COVID Cases Spike to the Highest Louisiana Has Ever Seen

With the Delta variant of COVID-19 becoming more and more prominent, Louisiana’s infection rates have surged in a way we have not seen before. Several hospitals, including Lake Charles’ Lady of the Lake which is Louisiana’s largest hospital, are reaching or are at maximum capacity. Experts believe that this surge is due to the large number of the population that is unvaccinated. It is encouraged by the CDC that everyone of age gets vaccinated in the hopes of slowing the spread of the Delta variant. The Delta variant of COVID is proving to be much deadlier and more contagious than the original strand of COVID-19. Younger peoples and even children are at fatal risk in the face of Delta. Expect some sort of mandate or restrictions to come down soon in response to the rise in cases.
